Cancer Black Care joins as our latest Founding Partner
We are delighted to announce our latest Founding Partner, the UK based charity Cancer Black Care.
Cancer Black Care (CBC) is a not-for-profit support organisation for cancer sufferers and their carers, with an emphasis on Black People and People of Colour (POC). Their mission - Cancer knows no boundaries, and neither do they. Their purpose is to bridge the gap in cancer care by addressing the unique needs and disparities faced by Black People and POC.
By coming together, the organisations will collaborate to ensure their voices of those supported by Cancer Black Care are heard loudly in the development of the Cancer Platform, and will further support our mission to lean into the known inequalities in cancer navigation. In addition, we are sharing our office and events space, bringing our teams together making the most of the incredible resources we have access to, so Cancer Black Care can continue to grow their reach and impact.
We are also announcing a grant of £20,000 that will be made to the organisation from The Cancer Awareness Trust. Whilst we are not a grant giving body, the recent funds raised for the charity by Duran Duran and Andy Taylor enable us to support a number of our collaborations. As prostate cancer is a big challenge within the community Cancer Black Care serves, we are honoured to support them in this small way, in honour of Andy Taylor’s role as our Ambassador.
Paul Campbell, CEO said of the collaboration, "Cancer Black Care is thrilled to partner with The Cancer Awareness Trust, and we extend our sincere appreciation for their generous grant, office support, and invaluable resources. We eagerly anticipate future collaborations and meaningful working experiences ahead."
Prof. Sir Chris Evans, Founder of Cancer Awareness Trust added, “I am thrilled to welcome Cancer Black Care into our movement as a Founding Partner and a close collaborator. Professor Frank Chinegwundoh has worked tirelessly for many years to ensure this important work continues and I’m excited to see what we can now achieve together with Paul and their team alongside ours.“
