Prof. Sir Chris Evans

Professor Sir Chris Evans is one of the world’s leading biotech entrepreneurs and scientists, who has spent 36+ years at the forefront of his trade, turning scientific discoveries into products and services that have directly benefited the lives of people around the world.

He started his first company, Enzymatix in 1987 where he quickly developed surfactants which went on to save the lives of millions of premature babies by enabling their lungs to open. In 1995, he became an OBE and by 2001, he was the youngest scientist to be knighted for services to bioscience, enterprise and advisory roles to the UK and global governments. Finding more positive outcomes and options for those affected by cancer has always been a focus for Prof. Sir Chris.

In 2018 he co-founded the cancer drug development company, Ellipses Pharma alongside Dr Rajan Jethwa, in addition to co-founding the UK charity, Cancer Awareness Trust, with the purpose of building Cancer Platform.

In 2022, Prof. Sir Chris launched EDX Medical to focus on creating cancer prevention and diagnostics solutions.

Prof. Sir Chris is the founder and owner of Evamore Records, a non-profit music label which uses the power of music to generate both awareness of and funds for Cancer Awareness Trust through artist collaboration and events. To date, Cillian Murphy, Sinead O’Connor, Brian Eno, Nick Mason, Ronnie Wood, Ozzy Osbourne, Noddy Holder and Duran Duran, are just some of the talent who have already been involved.
