“As a new Trustee, Sheila is simply a fantastic addition to our charity board and we are delighted she accepted our invitation. She has already delivered a huge amount for the team in the short time she’s been associated with us. Her energy, passion and practical experience with cancer and with all the things we are developing at The Cancer Awareness Trust, will make a huge difference for us in the near future. I am delighted to welcome Sheila as our newest member of the board”. Professor Sir Chris Evans, Co-Founder, The Cancer Awareness Trust

“I'm absolutely delighted to join The Cancer Awareness Trust as a Trustee. As a cancer patient, I know exactly how it feels to hear the life-shattering words you have cancer! and the first thoughts I had were, will I die! Like most folk diagnosed with cancer and against my better judgment I researched my diagnosis online and found myself trying to make sense of the unregulated information I found.

The Cancer Platform has global ambition and connections to provide a safe haven of ; trusted resources, clinical trial data, and cancer support services. I'm super excited to be part of the team driving a collaborative response to cancer care. Which I have no doubt will massively improve patient outcomes.” Sheila Kissane-Marshall, Trustee

Sheila is the first of a number of new appointments to be confirmed to our charity board in 2023, joining our founding trustees, Prof. Alan Palmer, Prof. Sir Chris Evans and Dr Rajan Jethwa. The Cancer Awareness Trust has an exciting year ahead and is recruiting more people to the board to help us get there quicker, and to deliver on our promise through The Cancer Platform.
