The Cancer Awareness Trust is delighted to welcome Professor Trevor Jones to our Transforming Cancer Advisory Group.
Trevor brings immense experience and insight having advised the UK Government on science policy and the recent COVID-19 pandemic and served as Director General of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry.
Trevor also served as the R&D Director for The Wellcome Foundation prior to its acquisition by Glaxo. During his time at Wellcome, he led the teams that discovered and developed a number of major new medicines; including the first drug for treating HIV, medicines for Epilepsy, Herpes infections, malaria, hepatitis and migraine.
"Having spent my career developing new medicines, it has been very clear to me that those of us who discover and develop these medicines need to ensure that to get the maximum benefit, patients (and those who care for them) are supported throughout their life's journey. This is best achieved by partnerships and collaborations between all stakeholders. This can be achieved through The Cancer Awareness Trust " Prof. Trevor Jones CBE FMedSci
